Spiced Turkey Drumsticks
Comments:
Turkey drumsticks are for any occasion. They are especially great for picnics, fairs, holidays or just snacking. These "puppies" will take about 6 hours in the smoker to come to full maturity of flavor. Put 'em on in the morning and have a great afternoon snack!
8 Turkey Legs
3 Tbs onion powder
3 Tbs vegetable or light olive oil
2 Tbs paprika
1 Tbs garlic powder
1 tsp fresh ground black pepper
1 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp rubbed sage
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Rinse turkey legs in cold water and pat dry. Next, in small bowl, combine spice rub ingredients shown above and mix thoroughly. Rub onto turkey legs and then let drumsticks sit out for about one hour. Place turkey legs into smoker, using indirect heat, at 225°. We would suggest using cherry, maple, apple or any light smoke wood for smoking of your turkey legs.
Smoke legs for four to six hours, until thoroughly done. Remove the legs from your smoker and allow to rest for half an hour to set the juices.
