Man /and woman/ cannot live on entrees alone. Sometimes there is the call for something fantastic from the hors d'oeuvres section. Shrimp and mushrooms will fill the bill!
Let's get started...
First, let's take care of the shrimp. Begin by preparing Herb Grilled Shrimp by following this recipe. Allow to cool without eating too many of them. Next, cut them into small chunks so as to be able to spread them into the mushroom caps.
Next, let's get the rest of the hors d'oeuvres ready:
1 lb mushrooms with the stems removed
1/2 cup butter
2 cloves of garlic, minced
2 Tbs lemon juice
1 Tbs freshly ground black pepper
1 tsp salt
A little hot sauce if you want things spicy!
Once the shrimp are ready, then melt the butter over low hear while stirring in the garlic and lemon juice. Keep this simmering for several minutes. Arrange the mushroom so that the caps are down and you can place the ingredients in the mushroom. Pour a little of the butters mixture in each cap. Then add the shrimp and then pour the remaining mixture over the shrimp. Place under the broiler and cook until they are simmeringly hot! Then enjoy!
