About 4,000 years ago, Egyptians believed the mushroom was the plant of immortality. So, they decreed that mushrooms could only be eaten by royalty thus making ample supply for themselves!
Later, in France, Louis XIV went head over heal over the mushroom. He arranged for mushrooms to be grown in special caves near Paris.
Today, the mushroom is for the common folks like you and I who lover the unique flavors which they offer. Let's quit talking and get to grilling!
Let's Get Started ..............
Start with:
3 portobello mushrooms
In a blender set on a medium, combine the following ingredients:
1/4 cup of olive oil - light
3 Tbsp. chopped onion
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tsp lemon juice
salt and pepper to taste
Coat the mushrooms liberally and allow to sit for 30-60 minutes. Cook in indirect heat [225 to 250 degrees] for 8 to 12 minutes until the top can be easily pierced with a knife.
