The new year offers great opportunities to try new meals. Here we offer the great flavors of the Chinese influence. Enjoy!
First, collect the following ingredients:
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts,
or one whole chicken
1 cup honey
3/4 cup soy sauce
3/4 cup sherry
1 Tbs fresh ground black pepper
1/2 inch ginger root, minced
3 cloves garlic, minced
Thoroughly combine all ingredients in a non-reactive bowl. Using 1/2 of the mixture, marinate chicken for 1-4 hours in the refrigerator turning occasionally. Discard marinade when finished. Baste chicken occasionally with the remaining 1/2 of the mixture. Grill chicken breasts and parts directly over heat until done. Whole chickens would be better barbecued over indirect heat. Enjoy!
