Carne Asada
Comments:
On its most basic level, Carne Asada is a marinated, grilled steak [beef], sliced thin and served on tortillas. From there, the choices are simply endless ...tacos, burritos or straight up! The other thing you really need to know is that you must marinate in a lime based marinade. Have fun with this tasty meal.
First, collect the following ingredients:
2 pounds flank steak
10-12 flour tortillas
6 cloves garlic crushed
1/2 cup tequila - optional
1/4 cup lime juice
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup orange juice
6 cloves garlic crushed
1 medium white onion chopped
2 Tbs fresh ground black pepper
1 teaspoon Tabasco
Combine the 3 juices, garlic, onion, tequila, Tabasco and pepper in a glass or plastic bowl. Add the steak and marinate ...turning occasionally for 4th hours. Preheat grill. Stack the tortillas in foil placing a few drops of water on each and place in a warm, but not hot spot, on the grill. Remove meat reserving marinade. Place on grill turning steak occasionally. Brush steak with remaining marinade. Cook to your liking, cut into thin slices, place a few slices of steak on each tortilla and serve with salsa and guacamole if desired. Serve immediately.
Enjoy!
