Where can I buy large amounts of Hickory wood. I have a restaurant in So. Calif. Do you use white hickory for smoking?

I think it is illegal to have hickory in S. Cal even if you can prove that it came from out of state. Any species of hickory is good for smoking. A cousin, pecan, has a milder flavor. But oak works well.
I would try to find a pecan orchard. They have to be pruned regularly and that generates a lot of wood.
