FAQ Subject: Mixing marinades in metal bowls
Smokey,
I noticed in your newsletter about not marinading foods in a metal bowl.
I've gotten into sailboating and will be trying some grilling on the rail mounted charcoal grill. I was wondering if the bowl is stainless steel if that is a less reactive enough metal to avoid causing me problems.
Enjoy both your newsletter and the web site. I've been reading for a couple of years now, and I believe it has definitely helped my results!
Hi Bob 'n Ruby,
Thanks for the kind words.
I envy your sailing. I have been landlocked for too many years and am between boats.
Stainless works fine, but I would recommend either plastic (Tupperware type) with tight fitting lids or Ziplock type plastic bags as a more secure option in case of foul weather.
Have fun,
Smoky
