FAQ Subject: Making a smoker from a metal garbage can
Where can i find more info on making a smoker from a metal garbage can ?
Thanks
Duke
Hi Duke,
Please don't. Metal garbage cans are coated with zinc, a toxic heavy metal, that begins to produce poisonous gas at a little over 400°.
But, just for guys like you, I put chapters on design considerations, construction materials, illustrations and plans for several made from 55 gal. drums in "The Great American Barbecue & Grilling Manual" along with questions to help you define your needs and it teaches how to get the maximum pleasure with minimum effort our of whatever you choose to build. Click into The Barbecue Store at www.barbecuen.com and check it out.
Have fun,
Smoky
