FAQ Subject: Gas has sulfur dioxide added
I keep seeing bar b q with wood and gas.
Gas has sulfur dioxide added to keep people from etting carbon monoxide poisoning, but this will also alter the food. I have such a low threashold of sulfur that I cannot eat foods cooked over a gas grill (or gas stove). This may be a problem for other people (especially asmatics) as the sulfur may set off reactions.
You may want to mention this as many people who suffer from this are not aware of the problem. Char broil use to make a nice Electric grill of 300 sa in but discontinued in favor of a more rounded unit.If you have reviews on other models please let me know.

Thanks
Hi Richard,
Actually all sulphur has to be removed from gas before it can be shipped or sold. The odorant added to natural gas and propane is captan which does have some sulfur. MECO makes a good electric grill. And you might check out the Ol Smokey in the Barbecue Store.
Have fun,
Smoky
